Sylva Boyadjian-Haddad: Treading On A Land Mine

Be mindful crossing the desert
Let your boots land softly on sand

(Check your arrogance at the gate
Clear your mind of fear)

You could as well be treading on
A poet’s grave as an old mine

This poem was published in Salt  (Finishing Line Press) in 2011.
