Chouchanik Thamrazian: Ville-perce-neige

J'ai voulu penser des lunes
Des lunes blessées, des lunes percées, des lunes-perce-neige,
des lunes de sang
Pour tes nuits qui quittent les visages, les mains et les terres, pour tes nuits
désertes et ocres.
J'ai voulu croire aux soleils d'encre pour couronner tes fuites.
J'ai voulu boire les soleils; être froid, en veille.
J'ai voulu cracher les lunes: brûler froid.

Chouchanik Thamrazian participates in the Poetry International Festival in Rotterdam

Chouchanik Thamrazian grew up in Yerevan. Since 1997 she has lived mostly in France, where she studied modern literature at the University of Montpellier. She is now finishing her doctoral thesis, entitled La dynamique du rêve dans l’écriture d’Yves Bonnefoy.

She has published two volumes of prose poems in Armenian, Voskévandak (the golden cage, 2001) and Karmir tzar (the red tree, 2004). She has also translated collections of poems and essays by Bonnefoy, as well as works by Marguerite Duras and André Gide. In the late 1990s she began writing poetry in French.

Chouchanik Thamrazian took part in the Poetry International Festival Rotterdam 2007, a festival created in 1970. The pieces are available online and
