As you
Prepared food
Picturesque and good
Poured wine
Purling and fine
The cat pilfered the pâté
The rabbit acted blasé
And snow trickled – unknowingly
To oriental songs claiming eternity
But night perchance
Cast its peremptory silence
Over love's pinnacle
Where lovers meant not to be fickle
Or did they
