ՀԱՅ ՊՈԵՏԻ ՄԵՆԱԿՈՒԹՅՈՒՆԸ ՊՈԵԶԻԱՅԻ (ՑԱՆԿԱՑԱԾ) ԵՎՐՈՊԱԿԱՆ ՖԵՍՏԻՎԱԼՈՒՄ

Այն կողմերից, որոնց մասին գրում եմ,

այս կողմերում խոսում են լուրերի թողարկման ամենավերջում,

իսկ ավելի հաճախ՝ տողատակում։

Հաճախ` նկատի ունեմ քսան տարին մեկ՝

հեղափոխությունից հեղափոխություն։

Իսկ միջհեղափոխական ընդմիջումներին մեր կողմերում

գրում են բանաստեղծություններ

սարի,

քարի,

ծտի,

քարի կողքին աճած ծառին նստած ծտի մասին՝

լրագրողական լեզվով ասած՝ տեղական թեմաներով։

Այն կողմերում, որոնց մասին պատմում եմ,

այս կողմերի մասին լսում են ամեն օր՝ լուրերի թողարկման առաջաբանում։

Իհարկե, այս կողմերում էլ են գրում

սարի,

քարի,

ծտի

քարի կողքին աճած ծառին նստած ծտի մասին,

ինչն, իբրև միջազգային կարևորության հարց, երբեք չի լուսաբանվում։

AN ARMENIAN POET’S LONELINESS IN (ANY) EUROPEAN POETRY FESTIVAL

The country I write about,
is the last thing covered in the news program in this country,
or, rather, is covered in news ticker alone.
By rather I mean once in twenty years:
once a revolution erupts.
And in between those revolutions,
people in my country write poems on
a mountain,
a stone,
a sparrow,
a sparrow sitting on a tree by the stone;
reporters would say, local issues, for that matter.
In the country, I am talking about,
this country is in the headlines every day.Of course, here poets also write on
a mountain,
a stone,
a sparrow,
a sparrow sitting on a tree by the stone;
which, as a matter of international scale, is never covered.
