Siroun Kaloustian: Organic Yearning
Sliced halves, each
expose nature’s luscious work
juicy nude in the afternoon breeze
bound in armor, leathery rust-red skin
colony of translucent tear-shaped globes nestle together
crimson Salmon-roe, cling one to the next
embody unity aching to burst at a glance
anchored in walls of white sponge membrane
bunches uneven in number
separated by gauzy skin, cousin to serpent’s shed attire
individual bulbs of sweet
await release,
glisten,
pulse,
bleed pomegranate red
