Reminder: We are celebrating on May 2, 2021

The Armenian Poetry Project’s producer and director Lola Koundakjian likes to celebrate the Project’s anniversaries, as she put it, “quietly, reading poetry”. This year, with the help of the Armenian Institute and the International Armenian Literary Alliance, we are celebrating APP’s 15th anniversary with a reading of some of the most beautiful poems on APP’s website.

With close to 3000 posts and 200 audio clips, APP is a free site containing poems written by Armenians, as well as contemporary authors on Armenian subject matters. It represents authors from the 19th century to present, with some Krapar pieces added to the mix. Sources include out of print books, periodicals and digitized archives.

During this celebration, we will recreate the “Dead Armenian Poets Society” -- the semiannual gathering in precovid times at Lola’s apartment.

Join us as our readers give voice to the poets of the past, and experience why the lonely and the curious -- from over 100 countries -- reach out to poetry TM.

The readers are:
Hratch Tchilingirian, Susan Pattie, Tina Chakarian, Theo Maarten van Lint, Vazken Davidian, Tatevik Ayvazyan, Lola Koundakjian, Gagik Stepan-Sarkissian, Olivia Katrandjian, Shahé Mankerian, Shakeh Major Tchilingirian, Arthur Kayzakian and Nancy Agabian
