We are celebrating ....

Pop the champagne cork: on April 30, 2014, The Armenian Poetry Project turns 8!

With over half a million hits, hundreds of daily visitors and over 2100 entries, we have reasons to celebrate.

I believe APP helped me achieve several goals: bringing Armenian poetry to an international audience; free access for all readers, including those who don't have Armenian books in their homes and public libraries; audio files in iTunes; audio archives in SoundCloud; translations by a committed group of authors and readers; discovery of new writers, and, exposure to forgotten authors.

APP runs the annual poetry competition, which for the last four years has been sponsored by the Armenian Students' Organization, Inc. in memory of Arthur Halvajian.

I invite you to contact me to receive:

1. Resources to start your own DEAD ARMENIAN POETS SOCIETY. This was the core of what eventually became APP. You can get tips on how to run evenings dedicated to readings of works by late Armenian authors.

2. Resources for Armenian poetry workshops.

3. Support for cultural events and help in finding authors for reading series in the United States and Canada.

Thank you for being a reader and supporter,

Lola Koundakjian
Curator and Director, The Armenian Poetry Project
